Welcome to Suburbia

This is my backyard. My freshly mowed back yard. With the electric mower I was given for Christmas. Welcome to the suburban dream.

Actually I do like having grass. And a non-petrol mower with which to cut it. Makes me feel Orstralyn, but with a hippy edge. We've been here for over three months, so it was getting a bit mental. Now the whole backyard has that 'fresh cut grass' smell, and my compost bin is full of clippings. Mmmm childhood memories.

The beagle is our dog, Mycroft. The labrador is Bess - we found Bess last night, wandering the streets of Balwyn on Christmas night at 1am. She looked hella old and sore, and since there was no indication as to where she lived, we took her home. Today Lefa called the ranger, he contacted the family (who had come down from Ballarat for Christmas) and they came and got Bess on their way back home. Happy ending, since her family were super happy to see Bess, and very thankful, except for Mycroft, who was very sad to see his new friend go.

This isn't the first time we saved a lost dog.

Also, note tinsel in photo. Festive. Yes.

New puppy

Contrary to the previous post, this Christmas will be fun.
In two weeks time.
When we get to pick up the new addition to our family.
Cue the 'Awwwwww' sound track:

So far, she is un-named. And yes, she is a short haired classic black and tan dachshund.

Xmas 08

Enjoy forced happiness, crap presents, out of season food and unbelievably bad television everyone. And a happy new year.

Thundercats - the almost movie

Quite an impressive fake Thundercats movie trailer. Starring Brad Pitt, Vin Diesel, Hugh Jackman, Garfield & that weird chick from Farscape.

Rap can teach ANYTHING

Ok, so;
a.) why don't we have instructional videos in workplaces anymore?
b.) why can't they all be as awesome as this Wendy's how-to-cook-a-burger rap?

Fuck You, Penguin

Good god, the internet is a wonderful place. Ever watch Collectors on ABC, and wonder just how these freaky people who collect forks can possibly exist? Well, on the glorious interwebs, times that factor by a few million.

Tim H has just made my day brighter by pointing me in the direction of Fuck You, Penguin. A blog devoted to putting animals in their place. Love it.

Here's November 6th's 'Taking Kittens Down a Notch' as a taster:
"In the name of ALL THAT IS HOLY put that foot down, Kitten! What are you trying to prove? You know what, Kitten? FUCK YOU AND EVERYTHING YOU STAND FOR. It might be your world now, Kitten. But you can't stay on top forever. "

My only problem is, I keep reading them in Mark Wahlberg's voice. Don't know why? Watch this.

Rudd or Howard on Climate Change

I've just produced this YouTube clip in response to the Government's appalling 5% emission targets. Enjoy.

Wake Up, Freak Out - then Get a Grip

This is such a beautiful, and perfect explanation of the tipping point in Climate Change.
